Mereworth Vineyard |
Our vineyards, overlooking Wateringbury, are perfectly positioned on the Greensand Ridge. We also have a weekly rotation of food partners at the winery every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with winery tours available every Saturday and some Sundays, and live music sessions on Fridays and Sundays.
With an ideal location to bring his passion for winemaking to fruition, William planted his vineyards within a year of his return from City life, then promptly built his winery down the road at Brewers Hall Oast, all the while spurred on by his aspiration to make Mereworth home to the finest of drinks: English Sparkling Wine.
Mereworth Winery, housed in Brewer’s Hall Oast, is the place where we transform our grapes into quality English Sparkling Wine. Our stainless steel fermentation, aging and cold stabilisation tanks have a capacity of 35,000L
The vines benefit from the ideal viticultural growing conditions bestowed by the site’s aspect, elevation, climate and well-drained, rocky soil. First planted in 2016, we grow Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Historically, these three have proven a fabulous match for the climate and growing conditions here in Kent to make exceptional English Sparkling Wine. Our wines include:-
Mereworth White from White which is made exclusively from Estate grown Chardonnay and crafted from a single vintage.
Mereworth Pink is made from a blend of Estate grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier from a single vintage. This wine is intended to be both fun and fruity yet luxurious and bold.
Harvest Gin and Maroude aparitif :- We have brought an English vintner’s touch to a range of spirits,made at the winery and beautifully complimenting our wines. WUsing equipment from our state-of-the-art winery, we craft our premium spirits and aperitif through the process of cold-compounding.
