About Mudwall Wines

Mudwall vineyard is located near Benenden village. The vineyard sits within a traditional family-owned working farm comprising several hundred acres of farmland, woodlands and wildflower meadows."
We use our organic grass-cutters! sheep to keep the vineyards neat and tidy. They weigh less than a tractor and can get up and down between the vines much more easily !

Background

The vineyard sits within a traditional family-owned working farm comprising several hundred acres of farmland, woodlands and wildflower meadows. As the current stewards of this very special medieval estate, William and Sarah have dedicated themselves to creating their own vineyard, bolstering the growing number of English winemakers who are producing exceptional wines from British soil.

Product Description

With nearly 20,000 vines planted across 15 acres, we grow predominantly Pinot Noir and Bacchus grapes, as well as some Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. Whilst the vines may be new, the land is ancient with the farm in its current form dating back to the 15th century.
Although parts of the farm are now vineyards, other fruit (especially apples and pears) has been grown here for hundreds of years. b>Our English Rosé - Our first harvest took place on 4th October 2022, and the first release is a very limited batch of English Rosé made with the help and expertise of two of England’s greatest winemakers - Owen Elias and Nick Blampied-Lane. It is bright and expressive and in the style of the much loved Provencal roses. A delightful blend of Pinots, Chardonnay and Bacchus from the Mudwall Marlpit vineyard. Bright and refreshing, with hints of white currant, almond, hawthorn and gorse flowers on nose and palate; it has a gentle and lingering hedgerow herbal finish.

We just have to be careful not to leave them too long otherwise we might not have any vines left either !
